Prayers

Consolation

March 6, 2015March 6, 2015 / Rev. Eric Anderson / Leave a comment

From time to time
I lay a line of pillows
Underneath the comforter
And rest my body
All along the chilly fabric.
My warmth suffuses them
Until it is returned.

O I am fearfully and wonderfully made!
How strange
That this inadequate reminder,
This phantom substitute
For a warmth I’ve lost
Should comfort.

Praise be to you, O God!
Amen.
